In today's world, marked by climate change and increasing resource consumption, the "Water Supply and Sewerage" program trains experts who find the best engineering solutions to deliver clean water to people, protect cities from floods and fires, and preserve biodiversity in rivers and seas.
The program combines civil engineering techniques with creative and ecological solutions to create a balanced, clean, and safe living environment for everyone. Students are prepared in two tracks – "Water Treatment" and "Water and Sewerage Networks and Facilities".
Professional Skills
The program produces highly qualified civil engineers capable of executing a full engineering cycle - from management, design, and construction to operation, maintenance, and research of water supply and sewerage systems, including treatment plants.
CAREER PROSPECTS
With a high level of preparation, Water and Sewerage (W&S) engineers have a wide range of opportunities – working in established national and international companies, state, municipal, and research institutions. Many W&S engineers develop successful businesses of their own, actively linking public interest with nature conservation.

The "Transport Construction" program is a unique and modern program that prepares engineering professionals for one of the most promising construction fields globally and in Bulgaria—a well-funded sector developing at a rapid pace.
After the second year, students can choose from the following specializations – “Road Construction”, “Railway Construction”, and “Construction of Transport Facilities”.
The training provides in-depth knowledge in the design, construction, and maintenance of roads, railway lines, subways, tram lines, streets, bridges, tunnels, and other structures.

Students in the “Road Construction” specialization will acquire skills in the design, construction, and maintenance of roads, streets, highways, bridges, tunnels, and other road facilities.
Students in the “Railway Construction” specialization will gain skills in the design, construction, and operation of railway lines, stations, tunnels, bridges, and other railway structures, as well as urban rail systems such as trams and subways.

Become a Hydraulic Engineer - Discover the World of Water Technologies!
The "Hydraulic Engineering" program is the only state-protected engineering program in Bulgaria. Students are exempt from tuition fees and have the opportunity to apply for special additional scholarships.
Hydraulic Engineering is the broadest engineering program at UACG. It trains specialists in dams, hydropower systems, irrigation and drainage systems, ports, coastal protection facilities, levees, and river corrections—national infrastructure of critical importance to society under climate change conditions, directly linked to national security.
Our country's limited water resources and ongoing climate change require strategic water planning and implementation based on a unique combination of resource-oriented thinking and in-depth structural engineering training.
Professional Skills
Students are trained in the design, construction, and operation of: dams, hydropower systems, ports and coastal protection facilities, levees and river corrections in urban and rural areas; irrigation systems for agricultural lands, yards, parks, and sports fields; networks, facilities, and pumping stations for irrigation water supply; drainage systems for arable land and buildings; fish farms, as well as conducting water management and optimization research.
CAREER PROSPECTS
Highly qualified specialists can obtain full design certification, manage the safety and technical operation of dams, and hold positions in environmental control units, Basin Directorates and councils, or management structures of ministries, regional, city, and municipal administrations. They can also work in investment departments of various agencies and enterprises; as teachers in vocational high schools and UACG; in research units and institutes; in commercial firms and offices within the construction sector; in consulting bureaus and expert units; as construction specialists in banks, insurance companies, and more.
